**Paola Subacchi welcomes Yannis Manuelides, a London-based finance lawyer.**

**With more than 23 years heading the sovereign debt practice at Allen & Overy, Manuelides was directly involved in the heart of the Greek debt crisis. In 2010, Greece’s debt downgrade triggered a financial and political earthquake that shook the Eurozone. As the lead legal advisor to the private creditors’ committee, he played a pivotal role in the unprecedented restructuring of €206 billion of Greek sovereign debt (the PSI).**

**In this 37-minute episode, the discussion brings listeners behind the scenes of complex negotiations where law, finance, and politics collided. The conversation highlights the dilemmas faced by creditors, governments, and European institutions as they tried to contain contagion. Yannis led the legal team which acted for the Steering Committee of Private Creditors of Greece on Greece’s EUR206bn debt restructuring (PSI).
